I have posted my experience with these and hoped to find a member with some exact detail. The Remis concertina blinds have a cord system that uses a small spring as a sort of shock absorber. These springs are mild steel. Although they are not directly exposed to the elements they are at the rear of the blind facing out. So if you have your windows open on a regular basis in humid conditions even with the plastic seal they corrode... go rusty. The rust leeches into the cord, the spring becomes a rough surface and the two combined cause it to fail where the cord passes through the spring. I have 3 that have done this in as many months. Investigation has shown others are on there way.
So my plan is to get some stainless steel springs, coat them with some of that electrical spray and replace the mild steel ones. Has anyone got size detail on the spring, if not I will just have to wait till I get home to dismantle one and measure up.
