Splitting POI files (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know of a program which can spot large POI files into smaller chunks please.I have a database of shall we call them scenic ares in the UK but the number involved is over 9000 POIS.I’m really only interested in ones in Northern England.I have tried POI edit but that is next to useless.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What format is the file / database. Are there fields that can be used to identify location like county or Postcode?

If you can still find it online (be wary as there may be some questionable versions out there) you should be able to do this in Extra POI Editor (v6.04).

Extra POI Editor lets you open .kml files and save them to a number of different other formats including .xls, .xlsx, csv, gpi (Garmin), etc.
