I'm a newbie
I've no doubt speedometers are a lot easier to read in later models than my 2007 Elnagh. On sunny days (Ha!) in particular I could do with large illuminated digital numbers like I have displayed in my car. Anyone know if there is such an accessory that can be mounted on the dash?

We use an old Android phone and a free App that gives a large clear digital display, that can be changed from Miles to kilometers in a moment - think it is called Hud

Edit - It is called DigiHud

Thank you Clickem, sounds exactly what I'm looking for, I'll look into it,

If you use a sat-nav that will show the speed and with more accuracy than the speedo.
I have a Garmin mounted on top of the dash, quite close to my field of vision, which is much easier to read than the daft Fiat speedo.

I assume the base vehicle is a Fiat. In that case you will be disappointed to find out that the visibility of the speedo on the newer Fiat model (X290) is worse than that on your X250 model!

Absolutely right! First fix was a Demon Tweaks GPS speedo (£80) that fits neatly into one of the dash vents, but also concerned about it attracting theiving lowlife. Second fix was a Scosche Heads Up Display (£25) powered from the OBD (diagnostic socket) which works fine and is less attractive/obvious to thieves.

I have the same problem reading my Renault speedometer in Europe. MPH no problem but the tiny numbers for kilometres are just about invisible. A stick on conversion would be good but I use either the TomTom or Garmin to advise me of my speed, I have both running as the van has a built-in TomTom.
I find it fascinating that on many occasions they will disagree, with one saying turn right while the other says turn left. This kind of decision I could make myself.

The 2019 Fiat Ducato dashboard speedometer is still difficult to read.

Currently I am the designated driver and I use my Android mobile phone in a holder clipped into the air vent and I use Google Maps for navigation which has an optional display showing my current speed and also shows speed camera sites on the route.

In addition to Google Maps I also have the free TomTom Amigo app which until a few days ago was known as the TomTom Speed Cameras app. The great thing about this app is that can run in overlay mode where it just shows the current speed limit and the current speed in a floating window that floats over the top of any other app you are running and it also provides verbal and visual warnings of speed cameras. I find this invaluable for helping me to remember when I am in a 30 or 40 mph limit.

In the screenshot you can see the Google Maps speed indicator bottom left and the TomTom amigo speed indicator top right. My sofa is currently going 0 miles per hour.
