Has anyone any experience of their dash Speedo stopping working?
We set off on our travels today and I noticed that the dash Speedo is not working but the mileometer which is digital is still clocking up the miles.
I’ve had a look under the bonnet to try see where the cable is and also down by the foot pedals beneath the dash but couldn’t see anything amiss.
It’s not the end if the world as I’ve been using the satnav mph as a guide.
Without stating the obvious of going to a garage to fix, has anyone got any advice for a fix? Previous vehicles can have the cable pushed which may do the trick but it’s identifying the cable
Thanks a lot

If you take the clock module out you should be able to see the cable and disconnect it . If it spin's it not that. I fixed mine by spraying all the clock's needle bearing with silicone.

How old is your van? It may not have a conventional cable.

As already mentioned there is no mechanical drive cable on modern vehicles.
If the odometer is working but the speedometer isn’t moving it’s almost certainly a problem with the instrument cluster which can be repaired by these people

The instrument panel is really easy to remove in 5 minutes

On my 2006 ducato it was the sender unit located at the gearbox. Some cheap alternatives available if you want to risk it ? Bought a cheap Amazon one and it worked perfectly.
