Set of this weekend, speedo working . I did notice that when returning to storage last week it was jumping up and down a bit at 60. A few miles into our jouney looked down and speedo was showing 0 mph. Also noticed later that the trip and mileage were not increasing. Managed to download a speedo app on my phone to keep an eye on the speed .
It is a 2005 Fiat Ducato 2ltr JTD has anyone had this happen and what was the fix. All other dials work and van ran fine. I am thinking it has a sender unit off the gear box, if I can find it. Going to check if it is as simple as a fuse in the week, when i get chance. TIA

It might be a cable driven Speedo in which case I'd suspect either a broken cable or broken drive in the gearbox . Used to be a common problem on mk1 escorts

I took my 2004 clocks apart because all the gauges seem to be sticking. It's not too difficult and I simply sprayed silicon on all the centre needle pivots. Worked a treat.

Had the speedo out and it is all plugs and socket so no worm drive. Think i found the sendor unit on the gear box underneath. It is in such a difficult position behind a cross member. Looked like you really need a pit to change it comfortably. I booked it in at CSG in Chesterfield today and all fixed with a new sendor unit .I am not as flexible as used to be so for the sake of 1 hours labour I can now see how slow I am going. 👍
