Very disappointingly the shower tray on our 18 years old McLouis has cracked in several places. Renewing it, if I could find one, would be a nightmare job. I'm considering using Speedcote Europe system to get it sealed and recoated.
Does anyone have any views on the longevity of the repair. Reviews I've seen have all been very positive, What are your experiences? Do they improve the shower tray support?

Had ours done about 5 years ago after a previouse coating that started to peal . They did strengthen the underside by drilling holes in the tray and injecting expanding filler of some sort. The finished coating is better than the original and probably last longer than the van. So yes would recomend it.

Another yes yes yes to speed coat, had mine done about 5 years ago and a lifetime guarantee as well.

Worth every penny 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

That just backs up other reviews I've seen but it's good to hear from people who had it done several years ago. Looks like I'll be making the call. Luckily Ludlow is very handy for us.

Had mine done a few years ago and still great. Had it done in a light grey as I’ve got too many shades of white for my ocd to deal with already.

It's got a 'Lifetime' warranty.
That's for the lifetime of the shower, not the owner.
What's not to like.
Other than the price.

think it for life of mh as long as you own it

Had ours done a few years ago and very pleased with the result. It's a franchise and we took ours to a a small industrial site on a farm - they also do truck beds etc and have even done a van roof, or so he said. Left it for a couple of days so it can cure, he showed us photos of the progress and we were very impressed at the trouble he took to mask off everything, even to full plastic screening to isolate the working area.

Just a little warning, don't try to use it until it is fully cured as it's prone to water staining which is a bit of a b----r to get off.

All booked in for next Tuesday. Just a colour choice to make now!!! White or pale baby blue are favourite at the moment!!

Please go for white.

As very nice as baby blue is you'll have a problem when you come to sell it..................

Think you're right there Terry. Having had another look through their pictures it's got to be brilliant white. Looks better and easier to keep clean.

How did it go mervyncp ? Did you get it done at Ludlow? I was thinking of getting them to come out to me, I'm near Telford.

Yes, I've had it done at Ludlow. Left it overnight and collected next day. Lovely job, very professional. Its an extra £50 or 60 if he comes to you. So it's your choice.

How much was it please; purely curious…

This is the quote he sent me when I enquired. I had sent him pictures of the shower tray.
"Thank you for the photos. I can either come mobile or you can visit us etc.
I may be coming to Gloucester soon so you would be on my route.
If you come to me then the shower tray repair is £345 + vat.
If I come to you then its £395 + vat."
I've attached a before and after photo

It's that piece of paper that comes with the repair.
Lifetime (van, not owner) guarantee, that's the important bit.

That's incorrect Emmit. The guarantee is for 10 years as long as the original customer owns it. That is taken directly from my guarantee document.

It would seem that we have different warranties.
(having said that, I accept that 'my' warranty only? lasts for my ownership of the vehicle and not the life of the van.)
However, here is my warranty doc.

Seems the terms have now changed and what was lifetime has now been shortened to 10 years. Still good terms, showing confidence in their product.

Not being argumentative but our job was done in the last two months.

Where was it done?
Apple Campers, Wellington, Somerset.

In addition, we had the same problem with our previous van.
This too was repaired by Apple and I'm sure the warranty on that one was the lifetime of the van, not just the ownership of the vehicle.
Maybe, because its a franchise, each operator has their own limitations although I noticed any franchisee could fix a problem arising from an original repair.

Had my tray done by Speedcoat themselves, at their premises. Got 10year guarantee whilst I own it.
