The Speed limit in a lot of urban areas is to be reduced from 70 or 50Kph to 30Kph (20mph).
Also Motorway speeds are to be increased but initially reduced.

During the oil crisis of the early 1970's there was a maximum 50mph on all roads here with a higher limit including motorways. I seem to recall accident rates plummeted.

Will they tell the Spanish drivers about it? :ROFLMAO:

While here in Spain we see a large number of cars ignoring the present speed limits so reducing the limit will probably have very little effect.

Thanks for the warning though, the local plod my well think we foreigners are easy pickings. :Eeek:

Hi John and Joan
Many thanks for info. When the traffic laws changed here (Spain) couple of years ago we all got an info leaflet in our post boxes but up to date nada nought nothing.
Maybe its all going through very quick and they hope to catch out many !!!!
Only do 90 k in bus anyway unlike frogs/germans etc etc who usually fly past us doing 12 mpg !!
