Over 50% of my travelling with work is within 50 miles of Manchester. I would estimate that of that proportion, I use my Cruise Control about 70% of the time whereas with the other 50% being further, I estimate about 85% of the time. Generally keeping bob on the speed limit or at maximum speed (54 in my wagon) helps me maintain a steady flow. In the moho. I would say that apart from our dialiances to some towns on route to our destination, I estimate around 85% once I've got to the motorway. Even in 30 mph areas, if traffic light, then use it. It keeps you from putting a bit of pressure (or too much) on the accelerator.
In France, admittedly somewhat better with the CC but some areas with villages close together, then re setting is the norm but I go through at their speed limit and thus no looking round for cameras or light changes because of speed.
