Hi funsters, we are off to Spain (Portsmouth-Bilbao, on ship, Salamanca) end of April.
We're driving down to Calpe, site is Calpe-mar for 4 weeks, any members used this site, reviews are good ( but who knows if they are genuine), any suggestions etc.
Were in a 9 metre LHD, RV, so will need lpg en route, any help/advise appreciated

Do you have an ACSI card?

Yes, been using acsi for a few years, it's good out of season for discounts

We stayed at Calpe-mar for a few weeks in 2018. It is a nice site and accepts ACSI. Some pitches are slightly larger than others and incur a few more euros. From memory, I think it could be a bit tight for a 9 metre MH. I would check that direct with the site, to make sure they keep a pitch large enough for your MH. Seafront with loads of eating places, is about 300metres away. On site it has a pool, bar, and restaurant. I think there is a new supermarket opposite the site, which was being built during our last trip. Overnight the gates are locked and has a guardian on duty.

Every Saturday there is a huge market along the street behind the site, this should satisfy the females, and where the market ends, is a very nice Lidl supermarket. The old town is worth a visit also. Enjoy.

Does look a bit tight for a 9mtr RV on Google earth. I would definitely send an e-mail with a picture of your van, just to make sure they can accommodate you, and if you are happy with the location of course.(y)
Good luck.

Very popular site and is often full. If you haven't booked you might be out of luck.

Late April and into May is the best time to get into Calpe-Mar, but well worth a phone call to make sure there is room. We were told when we were in Calpe, that the Mayor wanted to compete with Benidorm, but local people didn’t want that. I think he is having his way, because there are more and more high rise buildings appearing.

Hi all, thanks for all the info/tips, l have contacted the site, they assured me that they have had 9 meter motorhomes/rvs on site in the past, so we have booked a large pitch for 23 nights from, Saturday 30th April.
As our rv is 8.6 meter lm thinking that it should not be a problem, fingers and toes crossed.
BF ferry booked (Portsmouth-Bilbao) also, using a funsters voyager membership number, so got 10% discount.
Happy days
