Have any of you Funsters stayed at the municipal site in Zaragoza, we want to know if it is Ok security wise, how easy it is to get into the city, and what the facilities are like? I know the reviews on sites like ACSI are down to the opinion of different people, and their requirements , but the variation is sometimes quite amazing.

We stayed there in early March. It's a car park attached to a sports ground. It wasn't quite complete when we were there, some surfacing still needed to be done and some of the kerbs were still missing.

Getting into the city is easy. Really good cycle lanes that are a joy to use. Or, the Metro terminus is literally opposite the site.

The sports ground appears to be used quite a lot and it might also be used as an unofficial park and ride, so lots of cars park there, including in motorhome spaces during the day. Also, the football team supporters like to use drums. Lots of drums. Until about 10pm. After that, it was fine. It is next to a road, but only the moped driving pizza delivery riders were slightly annoying. The tram rings its bell every time it leaves and clonks through the junction a bit, but it's not bad and it does stop late evening.

Security wise, we felt quite safe. The site was about half full the night we were there. No undesirables about. Overall we slept well.

We stayed on the Municipal site on the way down and back this Spring. It felt fairly secure and was quiet busy with short and some longer stayers. There are also some chalets. OK for an overnight

The facilities are OK. They seem to be sometimes shared with visiting sports teams, and have been described like school changing rooms, and there was some team members in having showers while we were there (Saturday)

There is a Mercadona supermarket about 1/4 mile away, across the road. Never been into town

Think I am describing a different site to the one above

We stayed there Dec 31 2017. The member of staff we saw was very helpful and the site was very quiet. We were hoping to go into the city centre to watch festivities but it is further away than we thought.
The facilities were OK but not very clean and the black waste facility was the filthiest I have ever seen.

Reviews mention the long term residents as having nuisance dogs and in general making other visitors feel unsafe. From our brief experience we did not agree. We felt perfectly safe. The walled site is very secure with an entrance barrier.

Stayed here three times (Hobson´s choice in this part of Spain). Very expensive, broken dirty showers, very noisy during the day as locals brings their kids in to use the pool. Too far from town centre for sightseeing. Crowd of ´Travellers´ (not what I usually call them!) camping in the toilet block entrance last time we were here.

The municipal site is as secure as most sites, barriers etc, popular swimming pool, not cheap.
Bus into centre 10 min walk, worth a visit, big church, forget the name, we had a nice meal and a few beers.

Stayed there 2 weeks ago. Campsite was scruffy and quite expensive but felt safe. Reception staff excellent.
Bit far out from the city but the no.41 bus gets you there in no time and the bus stop is only 5 mins walk away.
Zaragoza itself is well worth a visit; magnificent basilica and great tapas!
