Hi All,
We're looking to travel to Spain via Plymouth - Santander next year, and was wondering if anyone can recommend a good site to stay for 4/5 days close to Bilbao with good transport links into the city

Many thanks in advance

No replies....I imagine most folk dock in Bilbao and drive south to the sun....
Perhaps you could look on Park4Night for a suitable Aire instead of campsite.... sorry but I cannot help further..Have a good trip..

Thanks for that Jumar, I have looked at the camperstops and search for sites apps, but most sites are just aires that allow stays of 48 or 72 hours (with varied reviews!!) Thought someone would have a good site to recommend but as you said, they're hot footing it south or wherever!

I'm currently on the site in Bilbao that Jumar linked to. Absolutely spectacular views across the city especially at sunset. The 58 bus takes about 15 mins, and certainly recommended as the alternative walk (about 50 minutes) involves a very long flight of steps. Only 2 days stay allowed, which may be a problem for you?? Otherwise recommended.

We stayed on that site/ Aire for 5 days in 2019.
We just asked if we could stay longer and there was no problem.
It's perfect for getting into Bilbao on the bus. There is a decent bar just along the road.( and not much else)

A couple of photos from the site above Bilbao taken the day before yesterday. As I said, it's a spectacular view across the city.

Thanks again guys, I did look at the reviews for the Bilbao site mentioned, it appears a bit hit and miss! Perhaps I'm expecting a bit too much as it will be our 1st venture abroad🤔
Chris, what's the transport links like from that site?

Sorry I don’t know. We hired a car for the week we were there.

I would guess that public transport would be ok because Noja is a fairly big town.

Its a lovely area.
