Morning all

I recently came upon a piece that said Spain was challenging the EU with regards to the length of stay UK passport holders were allowed in their country.
It went on to say that because of the financial impact on Spain's tourism they were seeking to have the time limits abolished?

Does anyone have a handle on this aspect and is it true or just a rumour someone has started to arouse us Brits.

Posted before but I don’t think anyone knows the answer.

I too came across this in a news paper article and as best as I can recall went on to say it would have to be agreed by Brussels and cover all of the E.U.

No, it would not have to cover all of the EU.

Spain could introduce its own Visa. Just like other countries have done.

The article was formed around something said by the then Secretary of Tourism, Fernando Valdes, to someone from INews. It was then copied by many different newspapers. Since then Sr. Valdes has resigned from his position.

Spain could introduce a 6 month visa if they wished but, so far no word about this has been heard.

Don't think there is any national impact on Spain's economic situation...some localised minor adjustments perhaps...just try and get a Motorhome place here in our part of Murcia right now...sorry full....many are...we are taken over yet again by German and Dutch owned vans.....
Oh...and as for the scrapping of the 90 Day rule here in Spain..read. jumartoo posting on here...amazing how a wrongly worded sentence can cause so many rumbles...it's long forgotten....👍🇪🇦😃

The type of tourism that Spain wants is short stay visitors, our apartment was fully booked last year, there's no chance of us taking long term rentals it's just not worth it, like many we get loads of enquiries and the ones that do are just ....... 🙄 if they are lucky covering their costs.🙂

The ones that should be allowed to stay longer, are people that have spent many euros investing in second homes. 😎 Bob.
