I'm a newbie
This thread is to help me confirm the legality, or not, of the below.

I have no interest in "opinions" so if you think what I am asking about is not appropriate, ethical etc then please do not comment.

So for each of the points below is this legal or not:

1) Book a Spanish campsite

2) Get eurotunnel from UK on 26.12 to Calais en route to Spain

3) Transit France stopping overnight, where necessary, while minimising stops en route

4) Transit Spain en route to destination again minimising stops.

5) Stay in Spain at pre booked site.

domf I have the camp site booked and the chunnel booked as of a few days ago..
I have spent a long time ( as in many many hours ) researching, have got a 1949 DLP ( also a 1968 DLP for France but turns out not needed this year )
I have my insurance green card and have spoken in person and at length to one of my step brothers who has lived in France for many years..
He in turn has been in contact with both the local and national police.. they all said they have no interest in motor homes as long as they behave in a sensible and reasonable manner
A further question concerning foreign travelers in transit garnered the answer that they were the farthest down the list of vehicles of interest

I cannot help with the situation in Spain other than say there are several Funsters there who have travelled recently and report that not a soul was interested in them, and they travelled unaccosted through from France and down in to Spain to destinations such as Benidorm
We are on the train very ( VERY ) early on Jan 14th

Maybe if you want to know if something is legal or not, a motorhome forum probably isn't the best place to find out.

The fact that a member has recently done such a trip without problems doesn't " confirm the legality or not "

Just my opinion of course .

Thank you. You are of course correct. In my day job I often take opinion off counsel - however there are a number of members on here who's opinions I respect and I am hoping will comment.

??? Your original post stated that you were not interested in opinions. Whose opinions are you seeking?

Opinion in this context is the opinion of legal counsel - ie a barrister in an area of law they specialise in.

I am not interested in random opinions.

On the contrary. I want opinions based in fact. Otherwise I would not ask. What do you think the legal siobis?

Good luck

Seems odd to me someone who at work often asks for councils opinions but then asks for opinions from a load of amateurs on a matter in constant flux. Even people placed very well can't decide what constitutes a substantial meal who's going to tell you for certain what laws in other countries are!!!!
Also do you really mean what are the laws or are you likely to get done if you break them there is a difference! Why not look up the government advice on travel or doesn't it match what you want the answer to be?

Just wow 😂

If there is a mod who can delete this please do. My ask was a genuine question.. however I have obviously stirred up a hornets nest which was my intention.

If it cannot be deleted can it be locked?

Sorry it just wound me up. I spent today working in a hospital not in a known covid area but in one where covid has recently been increasing and it's one of the vaccination hubs so have been offering it to over 80's today. The FCO advise against all but essential travel to both France and Spain. If everyone listened to the advice rather than stretched the rules I suspect we would all be in a much better place. I have ignored the thread so won't reply again so you can ask away!

I dunno....
Some folk could start an argument in an isolation tank !!
I am not the brightest firework in the box but I worked out what was wanted;;;;
What IS the matter with folk lately.. cabin fever ??

If that was really your intention, I'm sure Jim will have something to say about it.
