Yes Benicarló got 1st January thru 5February booked, might slip over to Playa Tropicana after that. How long we stay will depend on if the Spanish Border stamp or passports in Santander, if not we'll stay ti'll April, but if they do we will have to scoot back to France.

And your favourite site is…….. 😉

I am not quite understanding this, presumably you are resident in France but making the trip to Spain from the UK via Santander.
If you have the French residency card, Carte de Sejour/Resident they should not stamp your passport or according to some need your passport.
I did have an issue when leaving Santander in August when the border guard stamped my passport despite giving him my Portuguese residency papers, no biometric cards have been issued to many in Portugal yet.The stamp was however struck out after lengthy protestations but I was not unduly worried either way as the passport was scanned anyway, just making a point really.
If you have French residency then you, under the withdrawal agreement have the right to stay in your resident country permanently but only 90/180 in other Schengen countries but realistically who is going to know.

We have stayed at Playa Tropicana many times but for various reasons, mainly Covid, gave not been for a few years, love Alcossebre.

We’re hoping to set off in a couple of weeks , normally do albufeira for Xmas and new year but possibly going to almafra (benidorm).…..just far enough from benidorm but easy to get to Albir etc. And train station 200 yds away.

Have tried the Aire at the other end of the town much more convenient for the facilities that Alcrossobre offers, reciently extended so lots of pitches, pool, cafe and about €12 per night.

Yes, we have used it twice and it is convenient, last time we were there it was still a work in progress, it was built on what was a campsite in the past, but we like Tropicana and have friends on there.

Having French residency doesn’t convince the Santander officials much, they see a UK Passport and out comes the stamp. If I then get caught three months later still mooching around Benicarló I’m taking a risk of having to explain myself in a language I don’t have much beyond “dos cervezes por favor”.

Easier to scoot back to France.

Ah yes

that was a scary moment, I actually saw him fall and how he didn’t break his leg I don’t know, and he landed on a peg as well, Allan was lucky that day.

Were booked on Villasol again in Jan but not sure we’ll make it as I’m waiting on probable hip replacement surgery again 😟, if he wants to do it next year I’m going to ask him for April so we can get away for a few months

Al 👍

You offer only the residency card to establish that you are a French resident. THEN after the long discussion/arguement, you show the passport.
they see a UK Passport
Not before the residency card.
