We want to do a 6 to 8 week trip as above. We can't book anything in advance, family reasons.
How easy will it be to find places to stay - Benidorm and further south, preferably sites.
Seems from other threads/forums, it gets quite busy.

Not long enough, but a little common sense helps..........
Normally I would say no problem turn up and check in, however many sites are already fully booked because of what is happening in the news right now so many who would normally go to Marocco are during Spain this year. Things might ease off by February so still worth a try.

Well for the past 4 years we have spent Febraury, March and April away in the van spending a lot of that time travelling around Spain and Portugal and to be honest we haven't had a problem finding places to stop over.
Apart from campsites we find many places to wild camp and if you get the 'Camper Stop' app there are plenty of motorhome dedicated stops although not all have much in the way of facilities.
We'll be doing the same this year.
Just go and enjoy

We were away Feb to May this year apart from 2 weeks at Benicarlo for the fun rally we didn't book any sites.

It certainly looks like a lot of funsters are going there from now till Feb / March.
But we are going in Jan for a couple of months and hope to be lucky.
Good luck and enjoy.

I have been caravanning for 32 years but in 2014 I have"gone over to the dark side"
We are also going in Jan for a couple of months and in the past we have never booked ahead - sometimes phone up on the day just to ensure there is space. We try to arrive around mid day as anyone leaving that day has usually gone and we should be amongst the first to arrive :)

Never leave a campsite with your clothes line tied to a lamp post.
We travelled through Spain and Portugal from December until March and could always find a site wherever we went. However if any of the sites had been full then we would have just trundled off to the next one, surely this is part of the joys of motorhoming..................

We have booked up due to things getting tough elsewhere in the world.
Never booked before !!

One place I am 100% sure you will get in though is Pinar San Jose in Zahora ( its about 30 miles south of Cadiz )
Cracking site, cracking people and even better facilities ..

16 years since restarting
Might have a few problems late March as Easter is early next year & around here it gets packed solid for the Semana Santa parades.
