It’s been a couple of years now since we drove across France into Spain for some winter sun , but we’re off again soon .
We enjoy a mix of wild camping and aires and every now and then a camp site for some R and R .
can anyone out there tell me , is it busy or quiet ?
Thanks for any advice you can give .

Have a great time.
I don't have a clue what conditions you will encounter but I am someone who misses their twice yearly tour of Spain so feel full of anticipation for you.
Enjoy tge escape
Chris

We haven't found it busy. We went down through France (very quiet) over the Pyrenees.

In Spain we have stopped in in Morello, Huesca, Zaragoza, Peñiscola, Denia and now up in the mountains near Pinoso. Peñiscola was probably the busiest site but still a few spaces each night.

Not interested in the likes of Benidorm/Alicante however.

Wouldn't know about Benidorm, but in our part of Spain very, very, few UK m/homes on the sites or roads. Most sites around half full - that'd be around quarter the pitches full timers and the other quarter mostly Spanish with the remainder either Scandinavian or other European. So as it's still in the high 20s, the sea temp still 23c and most of the grockles have gone home a lovely time to be here!

Think we only saw 3 other British camper/Motorhomes on our way down to benidorm in September, and about 3 or 4 British cars too. Bit less than usual but that's no surprise.

Came down through France a couple of weeks ago at the moment inland a bit from the bay of Rose's. I would say its back to normal.

Very suprised to see Puerto de Mazarron so busy last Sunday and yesterday also, not seeing many UK vans but plenty of others....
Most places inland are quiet now other that weekends where Spanish vans will be out and about, our weekends are spent at home, making space for others, however midweek trips are left to us to explore and stay on our own favorite places.....
Like was previously stated, its a wonderful time of the year to be in Spain, great weather, still longish days and a returning feeling that some form of normal life is beginning to present itself....

Love it round there used to stay at Isla plana go up to the guns walk along the coast sadly it woudnt be the the same now on my own

Currently staying at Camping OLE near Oliva/Denia. Absolutely spotless toilet blocks, large pitches, staff with smiles, next to a beautiful beach and the sea is still 'warm' enough to swim in. Many Germans leaving this weekend, loads of spaces, all for 20euros a night (ACSI) and I reckon on saving £7 a day not having the central heating on back in Leeds! This is bliss compared to last year! 👍👍😀😀

We're down near Torre del Mar, it's very warm but not really busy. Last weekend in Valencia it was busy in campsites due to two bank holidays but in the wild it was very quiet.

We're probably going to move to Benidorm next weekend - we've never been and have heard and read a colourful array of comments about it, but want to sample it for ourselves.

So looking at the 4 ACSI sites - Camping Villasol, Camping Arena Blanc's, Camping Armanello and Camping cap Blanch :-

Are any funsters there who can tell me how full they are and which they prefer?

Useful comments will be appreciated.
Thanks Greg

Thanks to everyone for your good wishes and information. Need to dust off the old Spanish gas bottle and regulator now . Many thanks, Alan and Sue .

Just returned from 6 weeks travelling Spain and Portugal. All of the sites we stayed on where approx half full. Dutch Germans and French in attendance. Very few British vans. Found mask wearing, social distancing etc very well complied with. Felt apprehensive at the start but much safer than at home as the holiday progressed. Take the plunge, be careful before we are all locked down again!!

Camping villasol for me. Nearest to town if on foot. No dogs allowed.
Cap blanch is Altea about 5k out of Benidorm.
Not sure about the others.
