For those who are not aware Pleasureland Southport has a new online booking/payment system here.

General website here.

There are a limited number of 5 amp hook-ups available.
A new Elsan point has been built which requires an entry code to gain access.

Barbara also informed me that if you wish to book online but don't want to pay in that manner you can pay when you arrive.

They now operate a loyalty card scheme.

Hope this is of help.

That cdp pointc was gross.
It needed sorting out lol
Looks like prices have gone up as well.

Yes to a massive £12/15 a night:).....£18 with electric.

Same price in the summer, compare that with the CMC site prices of £25/35 admittedly with electric included.

Hallelujah.

I've moaned about this for years and years.

Maybe they'll even open the showers one day.

We were there on Thursday 28th March. Paid £10 without ehu . The Elsan point was in a newish block building at the seaward end of the site and was very clean.
Liked the fact you could park more or less where you want.

Why on earth would anyone want to go there...(n)

It's the Benidorm of the UK - great place and like Benidorm well cared for by the council. The parks and the museum are a credit to them.

It is said the Southport Arcade was the inspiration for the famous one in Milan. Sadly the Milan one does not have a nice pier nearby, to walk down.

Southport, like many other UK seaside resorts, has suffered a decline. However, Lord Street is still a lovely street to walk down, the pier and the promenade are lovely. For me, living at the north end of the coast road I can get on my bike and cycle all the way to the nature reserve in Ainsdale. A lovely day out.

Because Southport is nice, have you ever been?

I lived there for a couple of years in the early 70's and the town was in decline, but I have visited a few times recently and it is a pleasant town to visit.

I stayed there last Thursday evening for £10 (without EHU). Beer festival on at Wetherspoons.

The weather was brilliant. Nice cycle ride to Crossens' pumping station. Walked the length of the pier and a gentle meander along Lord street.(y)

We like it very much but I have to say the noise from the pleasure park is over the top
Walking through there is ridiculous as every ride has its own music playing at full blast

For all the reasons everyone above has written. It perhaps isn’t as quaint as some of those Cornish villages, but the prices of everything offer good value for money. Not the rather elite shopping experience there used to be, it’s suffering the same as every high street. Quite a few real ale pubs, the one in one of the arcades is very pleasant.

Only advice I can give is I never go on July 12th.

Even the upgraded C&MC site there has a high occupancy level at present, so it’s obviously very popular with a lot of people.

Yep indeed it was I. Just giving the van a shakedown prior to my France trip. Apologies, if I'd known you were one of the MHF gang I'd have come over to say hello.

Phil.

Steve,

I probably still do owe a round:eek: but rest assured meantime I've been saving up all my pennies to cover it:p

I'll have to get the third musketeer notified too:LOL:
