i would like a recommendation for a site that’s close to the beach but within walking distance (4km) to bars/restaurants to spend a jan/feb.
we would normally hop about from town to town up and down the coast so we haven’t really spent much time long term on a campsite.
Its a 8.3m morello which has a black tank so a drive over or accessible black waste point is important (we do have a 10m black waste pipe just prefer not to use it).
Thank you in advance for all recommendations.

We like the Anibal Camper area in Aguilas. They have some huge pitches, particularly in the section at the back of the area, where there is no EHU. Pitches with EHU on the front row, overlooking the boules pitch are also very good.
The area is attached to a garage with all services for motorhomes, including LPG, and a motorhome washing station with steps so you can wash the van's roof. I'm pretty sure that that there's a drive-over dump.
It's about 10 mins walk to the nearest beach, (where hardy people swim), and there's loads of walking along the cliffs on the beautiful shoreline.
There's a Mercadona nearby with easy parking for motorhomes.
It would be possible to walk to town, but there's a bike path all the way, and we usually cycle. (about 15 mins.)
In normal times, there are lots of restaurants/bars set out on the promenade, and the town itself has a lovely, traditional square. There's also a very good fish market.
We love it there. Next winter, maybe :sneaky:.

We can also recommend Anibal, have stayed there twice the last 2 winters. We also had a couple of nights at the secure Marina parking in Aguilas - we were @ 9m with the scooter trailer on & just about squeezed into the spaces, it's OK for a couple of nights if you wanted to be in the centre of the town @ 5E for 24 hours

Camping Cabapino near Malaga/Calahonda . Nice beach but naturist to the right hand side, Loads of shops etc nearby and a bus service form outside the camp

As pollensabob said.. Pina at Zahora is a brilliant site, and well priced too.
Really good on site bar and restaurant plus a large (ish ) well stocked shop
If you are in to history it is only a good walk away from Trafalgar Point where the sea battle took place
There is a goodly brit presence on the site and often impromptu bands playing in the bar/ restaurant

We went several years running but eventually got tempted by the bright lights and lunacy of Benidorm.. Though I think perhaps if Woman could be persuaded to forego said lights etc I would return to Zahora like a shot

We’ve just spent the weekend at Camping Las Torres, Puerto de Mazarron and can highly recommend it. You could walk into the Port which takes about half an hour, probably about 3 or 4 kilometres. Very nice site, exceptionally clean, heated indoor pool, tennis court and good onsite bar and restaurant.

Playa de Mazarron is right on the beach. There are bars and restaurants within walking distance and shops. The campsite is immaculate and has good facilities.

We’ve also stayed here and also think it’s a great site. We’re probably going to spend Christmas there. It’s only a half hour drive from home but we’re not allowed to leave the region of Murcia and at least it’s a change of scenery. Hoping the weather is as good as this weekend has been. It’s been in the twenties and we had a BBQ’d last night and sat out!

We had a house in Calahonda. Nice area, and the nature beach at Cabopino used to crack us up (no pun intended). Our grandkids asked us why they didn’t wear underwear, we said they were poor and couldn’t afford them. I don’t think they believed us especially the guy that had a cowbell on the end of his dongler.

I cycled down there, from our home, in January/February to meet up with Baycott and I was quite impressed with the site, especially knowing what was all around to do and to visit, near and far.

We are great. We have a ferry booked to Cherbourg then travelling down to the sun hopefully for New Year’s Eve. Due to covid we are going to position ourselves in one area so as not to upset the locals by travelling about. It will be a different way of motorhoming for us but still better than a British winter 😎

Bella Vista meets your criteria, right on the Beach a Marina with Bars and Restaurants literally a few minutes away and two Supermarkets within 500m.Excellent facilities with Bar and Restaurant.

Another vote for this site, stayed there in Oct for 5 days, loved it and will be going back. Great little shop close by but the Chinese takeaway was bloomin' awful. Short taxi ride to the supermarkets.

Following might need somewhere for next year.

Bella Vista close to Estepona. On the beach, no shortage of restaurants, bars etc close by. Site itself has great facilities. Good pitches. Also stayed at Camping Cabapino, all what you are looking for close by. Bus within 5 mins walk will take you to Marbella one way, Fuengirola the other way. stayed on both, enjoyed both.

there was only half a dozen in there the other week when I went for a look. Bella Vista the campsite up towards mercadona on the old bend has been shut since march

Is that the old marina next to the fishing port?
The new marina for pleasure boats the other end near to Anibal & part of the Hotel Don Juan Montiel alos allows parking for MH's but I'm sure it is 10€/night ,first night free.

gus-lopez don't know if that's the old Marina or not, we stopped there in February, def 5E per night, just parking really but through a barrier, so secure, easy walk from there into the town

gus-lopez Think it was the new marina

Just out of interest, is it difficult to get medical/travel insurance if you're travelling against foreign office advice? (covid)

Camping Cabopino which has already been mentioned is excellent. It has all the facilities you could wish for, including an indoor heated swimming pool. If you want to take a night off cooking you can get takeaway chicken and chips for €10 which is fantastic and is enough for x2 meals for x2 people........honestly! Highly recommend this site. Of course my experience is pre-covid.

We can also recommend Cabopino infact we will be there for 3 months from early January, it’s got everything and good transport links too

I have a 15 gallon "tote tank" which if I need to I can use to "decant" the black tank and use any normal "cassette emptying point"

Sometimes on sites when there is a drive over point its sometimes easier to empty the tank this way rather than help wash up ;)

The tank comes with a tow hook, which I have adapted so I hook it up on the back of my bike and cycle backwards are forwards

Another factor worth bearing in mind is if you use a site in Andalucia , as from January 1st the Andalucian health authority offer full, free health cover in the event of getting the virus.(y)
