Hi All.
Just planning our first long MoHo trip to Spain in Feb.
After a bit of touring around we want to plonk down somewhere for a week or so in southern Spain between Marbella and Cartagena.
We like being near the coast and to do some cycling (not huge distances), walking, sightseeing.

Any recommendations for restful/sociable sites with good or acceptable facilities and things to do nearby please.

Thanks in advance.
Happy Christmas and New Year to all Funsters.
Nik.

We love los Escullos, and plan to be there at some time during Feb.
It meets most of your requirements - near a beautiful coastline, plenty of walking, sightseeing in Almeria, Cabo de Gata, but transport needed. Has a friendly and sociable bar with happy hour, facilities OK if a bit tired.
On the down side - I wouldn't fancy cycling on the roads. They're quite narrow and hilly - maybe OK if you have electric bikes. There's nowhere for you to walk out to in the evenings, so all socialising takes place on site.
Maybe try it for a couple of nights and see how you like it. We've been twice in Feb and got in without booking.

Some good sites just south of Mazarron, Cabo de Gato and Almerimar on the harbour front but for bike rides and a bit of everything for a period of time, my favourite is Torre del Mar by some way.
