We are in south of France with friends from New Zealand - any advise on must visit places ?

Depends where you are, if you are anywhere near the Italian border, ventimiglia, just in Italy , reputed to be the biggest Street market in Europe , on Fridays, we love it.

Arles,Nimes,Avignon and Orange. Lots more places in between like the Pont du Gard.

Avoid the riviera in a motor home, loads of specific no parking signs, but there is an excellent train service right along the coast, park up or find a site to the west of Nice and train in (y) , or park up over the border in Italy and train or bus from there

If you are heading for Italy there is a campsite just inside called , I think it's called Pol De mar, they are reasonable and supply a shuttle service to the market and also to menton and Monte Carlo.

Heading to carcassone then open to suggestions
Lovely Aire at Gruissan, called Aire de Quatre Vents. Overlooking the lagoon which leads to the Med, and close to the Marina and little old town centre. Don't go the Aire on the Beach as it gets very noisy. Visit the local Cave cooperative to get some nice wines on tap.

Sorry it's por le mar

TOULOUSE is on your way then :D2:D2:D2:D2
City of space (you can park there ..;free I think)and City Center

And as a personal thought ... I'm quite (well even!) worth a visit

We stayed here years ago

It’s a massive site with everything on but “bushed off” into small areas, very expensive but we went in October it’s on the beach and you can walk for miles to the next three towns down the boardwalk, I thought it was really nice, don’t know what it’s like now though!

Ken, as you well know, you can’t take it with you mate! I think I had a bit of Acsi discount, I seem to remember paying £30 a night about 20 years ago, I really liked the area though! And it was roasting Oct/Nov as well

Depends what you want to do. We’ve been down there a few times ( sister used to live in Carcassonne. ). We don’t do campsites.
Avoid Limoux. The aire is not nice, the town isn’t up to much either.
Near Carcassonne, we went to aires in Mirepoix, Routiers, and then down near the Spanish border. Lots of flamingoes around.
Gruisson on the med and Soustons Plage on the Atlantic coast then a drive through the Pyrenees would be good while you are down there.

We've just come through Carcassonne and now on a campsite at Valras Plage. We're spending a few nights at Hello Summer Inn campsite which is17 E p/night with electric also close to the beach. Just beware of the beer prices of the beach bar /restaurants extortionaite prices.

Hi Brian/Anne

Mirepoix is lovely little galleried town free aire.

Colioure is possibly the prettiest town in France

Another vote for gruissan plage or marina

Aigues Mortes, walled town im Carmague.

All lovely IMO

St Tropez is nice but quite a long way from where you are now, depending how long you ve got might be nice to go gorges du tarn on the way back up.

Bonnes vacances

We have been at Carcassone for the last few days, wandered round medieval cite yesterday and bastide today.

Planning to head south towards Argeles sur mer or Collioure tomorrow

I think you are in the site next to or Aire, we saw a wildax yesterday when we had a walk round

Must have been us, I didn't see any other Wildax vans. We are now down near Perpignan and thinking about heading to bay of Roses for a few days

Ps if you catch up with us again come and say hello

The Luberon region around Apt is very pretty, lots of pretty villages, all dominated by Mont Ventoux

All the gorges, tarn, doubie, lot, are fantastic and not touristy, aires everywhere, scenery amazing. Start near Millau bridge at Aguessac to ste eminie. We are doing this right now.
