Source for helping select a first MH …..

Hi all,

I’m hoping that somewhere on the net there is a “selector” that will allow you to select from layouts and options that offers a set of results in a short list of MHs to read more about.

I’m fairly clear that I want a low profile, short base ie 6m‘ish 2 berth for a couple only with either a largish drop down front bed or twin berth / double nightly make up type. End toilet or bathroom but large fridge and decent kitchen. I want a base that has an auto gearbox, prefer petrol and will be going for a new one with a high spec. I hanker after a Merc but really open-minded.

Can anyone point me either to a source or even suggest models and how one selects the best and most reliable base vehicle and what I might look at?

Not sure there is anything around like that but we loved visiting as many dealers as we could and looking into each and every brand/type/setup we could find.
There is an ethos that you will not end up with your first buy. we are on our second in 18 months and feel very lucky to have found what we feel is definitely the best for us.
You are certainly in the right place for information though.

We bought our first van this year. Before buying we hired a van with layout we liked and while away, made a note of everything we liked/disliked and anything we’d like different.
So far we’re chuffed to bits with it , after a few technical teething problems!

Definitely!!

Virtually all current coachbuilt motorhomes of the design mentioned by the OP are powered by diesel.

Oh and - hope you can find what you are looking for.

I know of one but it is French. Maybe using Google Chrome you can have an English translation.

nearest thing to what you want is autotrader search you can put in most of your criteria but putting petrol in will bring up only very old vans and its only sorting through secondhand vans although many will be similar to current models
