Just had 4 brand new tyres put on my Eldiss Moho. The recommended pressure is around 70psi. I always felt this was a bit excessive and drew the line at 65psi.
Given that info., why have the tyre fitters only put 55psi in all 4 tyres? I have asked them and they say it will be alright (at 55psi).
Recomendations please. The tyres are Continentals, as before, identical spec..

I had some tyres fitted locally to my Moho and the fitter put 40 psi in and thought it was about right !

Get your van weighed, both axle weights, contact Continental with this information and they will tell you the correct pressures.
Otherwise it's just guess work

It’s a bit of trial and see what suits your van. We run at 55 and it’s a more comfortable ride, but might not suit your van.

The air line at my local tyre place can only go to 60 psi - my rears need 65

Never mind, my Lidl compressor soon add the extra 5 psi 🙂

Must admit the suspension seemed less harsh at 55psi. As you say - more comfortable. Just want to be sure the tyres aren't "under-inflated" with all the problems that can bring. I travel ferely light and well within laden weight limits.

We didn’t just go to 55 straight away we decreased the pressure gradually over a period of use checking as we went that the tyres were not abnormally hot etc .

Also I think it gives better grip on the front, not that we are going that fast. When they was more inflated if the roads were a bit damp the wheels would spin more easily.

I have just had first service with 10000 miles on clock and pressures at 4.5 bar front and 5.5 bar rear as we tow a car trailer and they are wearing very evenly Front has 7mm tread and rear 8 mm and that is taken in three paces across tyre tread. Problems can occur when underinflating like extra wear on outside edges Also wear in Center When over inflated😊
