Left is positive, but do check for the symbols embossed on the battery. The -ve should be easy to see.

I have a battery the same as yours only I can’t see all of the battery without removing the whole thing.
now I can see what all the mettle work on the terminal that I do not have a clear view .

Thanks all my wife has given me an early Christmas present of a 20W solar charger (who said romance is dead)!!
Not sure if these work well in the winter but thought it might give enough to keep it topped up.
Thanks again

Todays test: Without looking at a car battery, is the larger post the positive or negative?

If you look directly above the lh terminal there's a '+' symbol, most batteries do have '+' & '-' symbols on the casing right by the terminals

You really should fit some decent connectors, croc clips are an accident waiting to happen.

In your pic the above seems correct, German systems often use Brown as the positive. It it always best to use a mutlimeter to check
The wiring on my Hymer (German) is Black = positive, Brown = negative. The wire to the pump is blue = positive, brown = negative. The wire from the pump is blue = negative, brown = positive. The brown connects to blue, and blue connects to brown. If you make assumptions about colours and polarity in a motorhome you are asking for trouble. Get a meter, find out how to use it, and double check.

I know little of solar panels but, as this looks like a Fiat (family) battery installation, can it not be connected to the dedicated battery connection lugs under the bonnet instead of having to lift the floor?

Yes you can but then if the panel is on the dash you have to get the cables inside. Easier to attach cables to the battery and fit a plug and socket under the seat or somewhere accessible.

Got these on ours for quick connection, also good for connecting 12v soldering iron 👌😊
You need a gas soldering iron, then you can use it without a bit for the cream Brulee. Well that's what I do. :xrofl:

Making crème brûlées for Christmas Day👍
Add a few crumbled bits of Christmas pudding or just a hint of cinnamon to give it a Christmasy taste.

We used to make them for Waitrose, 3 in a strip, 1 cinnamon, 1 pudding and 1 with a raspberry in. All for 1 person... 👍👌

Apologies for the thread drift 🙄
Too be honest I’d rather be talking about baking that batteries!!😂
I like the sound of the various flavours you mention but the Mrs likes simple vanilla with a raspberry coulis and homemade lemon shortbread👍
