We did it a couple of years ago. It was easy and pleasant. There's a good aire at Sabinanigo a few miles before the tunnel on the Spanish side. When we were there it cost 4€ for two nights including services and electric. A nice town with some shops and restaurants and views of the mountains. Enjoy!

Sorry have only used the tunnel to go into Spain - the rules may be different.

Used it many times...
No issues, as mentioned Artic trucks use that route all the time..
Go on youtube and you will find plenty of video about it.
Nice road in summer but in winter make sure you check weather forecast, have known them to place temporary, compulsory snow chain requirements along that route when snowing.
Spanish side is better than the French one... (y)

There were no tolls in October. The roads on the Spanish side are excellent although considerable re-construction was taking place. On the French side I had to wince a few time as large trucks wound their way around the sometimes fairly narrow bends. It really is an excellent route otherwise.
Scenery is stunning on Spanish side.

I was told it's better to use the French side (narrowish twisty roads) in the morning because all the trucks tend to go through later in the day. Spanish side is okay though

Trouble with the bulkers is that they are hauling Spain into France 2/3 times a day & , like all tipper drivers, are travelling flat out both directions. Paid by load I think.
