Somport tunnel closure for 6 months.

Just seen that the damage caused to the road will lead to traffic delays on the Irun side due to the closure.
Fenadismer, the Spanish hauliers’ federation, has expressed deep concern over the closure’s repercussions for both commercial and public transport. Hundreds of lorries use the Somport tunnel daily to transport goods between Spain and France via the Aragón and Aspe valleys. The alternative route through Irún, already a bottleneck for cross-border traffic, will likely become even more congested as a result.

Just looked it isn't the tunnel but the road infrastructre on the french side of the som port & the road infrastructure on the spanish side of the Bielsa tunnel. I'd have no problems going over the top of the som port but not a lot of use if the road is ****ed. which it is in pictures I have seen . washed away

We stopped at the ccp at Arreau on Wednesday heading for the Bielsa tunnel and found out it was closed, so the first roundabout out of Arreau, went to the left nice road plenty of up and downs and hair pin bends, not to tasking nice views, plenty of bikers and cyclists.
