Hi. We have to be in Bristol Tuesday next, and will travel back Wed;. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a stopover for a couple of days. Somewhere where we could do a bit of interesting "sightseeing"?. Roughly off straight line between Bristol and Hull, without detouring too much?. Lot of places have already closed for the winter I know. So perhaps local knowledge might elicit something?.

For, as you say, ahem, "interesting "sightseeing" " it always used to be Tog Hill people talked about when we lived in in Bristol....

We have some good "dogging" sites up on Cannock chase (y)
Does that fit in the "Interesting sightseeing" catagory..:rofl:;)

Otherwise not much else around our way...

Ironbridge Museums - Loads to see for a couple of days

Very good, have been a couple of times now. but still a thought?. Same with the Black Country Museum.

I did consider somewhere near Gaydon, for the Motor Museums, but SWMBO, while she likes the old cars, gets enough of them locally!!.

It’s nice to see these sites becoming more popular ?

Perhaps they might catch on as Funster meets, especially after the recent thread suggesting ‘dog free’ meets

Hereford is nice, think you can stay at the rowing club, 5 mins walk to town

Between Bristol and Hull, well a lot of things go on in Birmingham, perhaps you could start a trend with a follow-up blog of your adventures.

AFAIR you can stopover in the carpark behind M shed on the harbour side if you want another night in Bristol. Look it up on Google and buy a ticket from the machine. Last time I used this for the car there were several vans using it.
