Sitting on a layby on the a92 near Osuna in Spain with a flat rns tyre on our 2012 Ducato based moho awaiting recovery service. Not happy as after our previous flat tyre (whilst on a ferry to Italy) I realised the standard jack, wheel brace etc weren't up to the job. So I bought a 5 ton bottle jack, extendable nut brace and a couple of axle stands. None of these help when the underslung spare wheel won't lower! It's a hydraulic system which lowers the wheel after a small hexagonal bar is inserted into the mechanism and turned, the system worked perfectly the last time but now no such luck. Anybody had a similar problem? Not expecting a solution from what I've read on the Internet but any suggestions welcomed. Ps the Tyrepal system alerted me to the tyre deflating, wouldn't be without it
Pps I did consider buying some of the sealing foam but the last flat tyre was caused by the valve being snapped off so that wouldn't have helped!

Just an update, the recovery guy said the mechanism had jammed and if you turn it clockwise then more forcefully anticlockwise that should release the mechanism, which it did ?

When our van was in for a routine engine service in the summer I insisted the garage check and lubricate the mechanism for lowering the spare wheel cradle.

They actually showed me how to do it, so I know it's been checked.

Glad you're sorted!

Hopefully your back on the road again then? (y)
Yes thanks, we've made it to Nerja and going to replace the existing tyres in the next few days. We were going to wait until we got back to the UK in June to replace the tyres but we're going for the Michelin Agilis crossclimate tyres which get good reviews, downside is swmbo doesn't get a Xmas present this time around ?

The recovery bloke showed me what to do and left me a can of lubricant, can't fault the service tho it took a few hours for them to find us ?
