Oh the irony of discussing having internet in a MH on an online MH forum .

:D2

As for TV - I detect a lot of inverse snobbery ... Oh no, not TV but I watch box sets or films or DVD's ...

As for me, a solo... Kerry's not great at board games or conversation...
Been out in the countryside, exploring, walking miles, enjoyed a pub lunch... perhaps read a bit - nothing wrong with catching up online with friends online & watching a bit of TV as the night falls...

IMHO of course, YMMV ;)

Makes me laugh as well, you pays your money you take your choice. Some nights we watch it (TV), some nights we don't, just seems like a lot of fuss over nothing, but as some one said earlier, it's all about opinions hooray for that.

I find it amusing that some people don't watch TV but must have their internet ! I don't have internet unless I pass a tourist office and am carrying my iphone.
We like to have a "Jacob's table" WITH A COUPLE OF FRIENDS ! or move to the beach for an evening BBQ.

Love the irony of an internet forum post suggesting the art of conversation might be waining due to technology! (y)

Because Mrs Cornish Boy works away from home so much, we find our time together very precious which means we often only exchange the briefest of hellos with our neighbouring motor homes and I guess some people may think our ability to converse is limited. Whereas the reality is that it is our time together as a couple that is limited, and selfishly, we don't want to share it with strangers.
We record lots of TV series that we would be unable to watch at home due to work disruptions and then take them with us to watch together while away in the motorhome so, yes, we do go away to watch TV! :)

5 years, feel free to ask me about the Carado!!
On our European tour in Norway last year we parked near a beautiful fjord for the night, carefully preserving the view for others to watch in the 24 hour daylight...A few minutes later Frog 1 appeared parked and blocked the view and immediately erected a giant satellite dish, closed the shutters and didn't even see the view:(
I never had a TV in the van, I never watch TV, I don't have the means or the licence to get TV......this seems to upset some people who think it's odd. After watching an hour of TV dross a few weeks ago in a restaurant, I consider it's beneficial for my brain not to be exposed to this mind numbing rubbish (y) I do have the internet most of the time in the van though but that is an essential pro active tool kit ;)

firstly to keep me awake at night so i don't get gassed in my sleep and secondly, so i can turn the volume up so no body can hear my grey waste dribbling out:whistle::whistle::whistle:

It`s the old "horses for courses". We have a T-V, Internet, and mobile phones. They are all tools to be used when required. One issue with mobility problems is that days get tiring, and If the T-V gets used it`s usually when the old legs have to be raised to get the circulation back!. No point risking another DVT!. Phones take more calls that are made. and "tinternet" is a useful adjunct for finding places, getting information about locations. AND WHAT PUB, for the best local "Watering Holes", with proper REAL beer.!. Booking the next camp site/ pub car park figures too.

its down to choices 40 years ago people didn't have all these choice's so did what they could

We were away last week and found ourselves catching up on our favourite NetFlix series, streamed to the tv via 4G to a tablet and then HDMI to the tv... it was all so easy, and we ended up talking about how that would have all seemed rather special even a small number of years ago, but now we take it for granted. The point, I think, is choice. We can choose to watch something - or not - depending on what everyone's up to. Sometimes the kids prefer watching a download - or nothing at all. There's much more choice nowadays, why ignore it?

Incidentally I like listening to BBC World Service - which you can only get via the Internet or DTV (unless you happen to have a DAB radio and are in range of DAB), so sometimes choice means using the available technology. Why wouldn't you?

UK... And quite a rural part of Northumberland too... Video is the worst thing for consuming data... For standard definition Netflix will consume 1GB an hour. If your daughter has an unlimited contract I'd still double check the terms as sometimes streaming video can be classed as ' unreasonable' use. Still better to look for free WiFi. Perhaps things will improve with 5G ;)
