Pitched on La Altea campsite - very nice, ACSI rate 17 euros. Short walk into El Rocio town - aka El Wackio amazing place and just on the side of Donana Nation Park - beautiful.

We were there over xmas , wonderful place and the campsite is good as well .
if you stay more a week you get a free horse and carriage ride around the town ,

if you go to the restaurant dont have the Paella ... it was just like soup ........

You can get the bus from El Rocio into Seville .

You can also park down by the lake on the car park , i believe it is a 1 euro a day, there were a few MH there for about a week .

Try the trip into the park as well.....well worth every penny if you are into wildlife.

While you are in the area, carry on past El Rocio straight down to the beach, they have a campsite as well.

Hi @Billy23 will it be very busy in the El Rocio and beach area this weekend with the carnival, we need to move from Seville soon.

Spent a weekor so there a few years back. Very different to the norm. Rather soggy on the sand if it rains.
Sundays were interesting when the bretheren come to their hasiendas .? for church, parading in their finery.
Fireworks, horses & all.
Worth a visit. Some nice traditional towns locally if I remember.

Hi @funflair they have a "live" party on this weekend, hard to say how many will go ( I guess a few thousand) it is when Spanish families go out and light bonfires and cook and drink, depends what you like, some would like to mix and see it, others would stay clear.

Or you could drive to it have a look, and carry on that road to Matalascanas park almost on the beach, or stay on the campsite. Bit cold but the beach is very good.

If you go hope you have a great time. I think it's good when people stop and explore this - very Spanish- part of Spain instead of just driving past on the way to Portugal.

That would be much appreciated. I think we will head there 2mor. Still got some data left and in true scots fashion don't want to waste it since I don't think it will work in Spain.

I didn't go it to the "Town" as the pictures I have taken are of the main car park, as you will see....not many people. Take note that it does get busier at weekends. You will note in one of the pictures the sign saying no Motor homes, that is just in the main car park. If you drive to the end of the town you will see that the road is closed, I am told that you can park just on the closed part (3 minute walk to Town) but so long as you look out for any "No parking here signs" and use your head, lots of places that you can park.
