I moved my Victron MPPT , dry ran it to check all ok .....worked a treat.
tidied all the cables, inline fuses etc, then nothing.
Put my multi meter on the outputs from the MPPT just says 1, not even 1.08, or anything JUST 1
traced back through the cables, fuses, etc. In then end I went to the cables coming on from the panels in the roof and tested them, stil the same, read out is just "1" I got another multi meter set to "20" same result. Check my multi meter across my batteries 12.8v ?

sun is partly out, I normally pull something in with 360 on the roof?

Whats going on Funsters?

When you say you moved the Victron MPPT, did you disconnect it? If so it may need resetting so it knows if is 12 or 24volt. Also important to connect to a good battery before connecting to solar.

If you disconnect one of the cables from the panels with bright sunshine and no load the panels should show 20 to 23 volts.

If that is OK disconnect the battery side of the regulator, check you are seening the battery voltage on the cables, if OK reconnect to the regulator then reconnect the panels. If still nothing regulator is probably :swear2:

I did disconnect it, thickened up the cables, didnt even think it may need a reset?
I wonder if it may have shorted and I hadnt noticed. I did have the inline trips off though?

Ill research the resetting thanks

Actually how would these things explain me not getting any Volt readings direct from the panel cables without anything else connected

What is the temperature where you are ?

Check the Victron Connect app to see what low temperature cutoff for the panel are as mine were not charging in bright sunshine the other day, and then I twiggy it was bloody cold and below the threshold.

Victron MPPT solar charge controllers automatically sense the battery voltage when they are connected.

I had similar problem water had got into connection box under solar panel

With the meter reading just 1, I would be checking for shorts !! With some urgency too :-)
As Lenny HB has suggested, first hing get one side of the solar panel disconnected and check the panels output

If you are getting in excess of 20v from the panel and your meter is set on20v it will read 1.
Nock the meter up to 200 then check at the feed from the panel.

thanks everyone, I traced it all back bit by bit and I dunno how but a piece of the cable on the roof has what looks like a neat cut in it. I didnt think it would even be that tbh but Ive got plenty cable so ran another and put new connectors and we are back up and running.

Just doesnt explain the multi meter "1" thing but its back and pulling in good .

Thanks for suggestions

That was my 1st thought "1" means OL on some meters 🤔 I think 👍

Edit: Yes googled it, most read OL though 👍
