Solar panels on all day when or how does it switch to engine battery from leisure? To start to charge as the engine battery is standing at 12.3v
Sargent 500 system 2013 Auto fail
P's on a hook up it switches itself?

Eight Years and 28,000 Miles.
On my 2004 Inca, the(after market) solar panel doesn't charge the engine battery at all, I recently fitted a Battery Master.. problem solved.

No need for EHU at all, both batteries kept topped up, highly recommended...dead easy to fit too.

I think the auto fail has a system something like that.

The trouble is "something like that" might not be close enough, our van has the CBE system and charges the starter battery when on hook up and also on solar IF the leisure batteries reach a high enough voltage to make the switch which in the winter they don't so Battery master = sorted.

If yours has a Sargent EC500 using the control panel (EC480 ?) check that the "Solar Charge" setting is set to "Smart Charge" on that setting it should charge both batteries
