Ok i'm changing a few things on my list
Now going for Votronic MPP 250 duo controller with ebl connector, do I really need the Votronic LCD display also, or is it just something I'll press occasionally and not take much notice of?

Short while after a gap of many years.
Have Pmd you free spirit:D

Have relied to you - here’s a photo of my 3mm panels on the top of my MH - the 6mm cables are twice the height of the panels :) impossible to see them unless you can actually see the top of the MH - zero wind resistance and noise! :)

No you don't need it, the battery parameters are set by 4 dip switches at the bottom of the unit. Ours works perfectly without the screen but I fitted a NASA BM2 so don't need it.

Yes, but my point is that you don't need the screen for the charge controller to work. (y)
Yes i agree, maybe lost in communication, I should have said, is it just a nice to have to see whats going on, I'm sure the EBL talks to the main control panel, think it's an LT 510?? to tell the status of the batteries, just not how much solar charge over the last 24hrs etc. the votronic just has more functions with it.

Another question I just thought of, if the solar power runs through the EBL to the main control panel by the habitation door and this is then switched of when laid up for a few weeks, does then prevent the solar panels replenishing the batteries?

No, the batteries continue to be charged by solar or mains if it is connected.

My panels came second hand from a firm in Matlock - I'm told they have some more for sale at the moment.
I paid £50 per 125W panel.
