I am looking to go to Portugal for the winter and want to fit a solar panel but have no idea what one to buy. Do any come able to power a 240v tv etc? If so what do we need?

Thanks

the solar panel is connected to a battery via a regulator. You can use an inverter to power 240v items but the real answer is to get a 12v TV.

Simple answer is NO. You would need and inverter for 240volts and this will run off your batteries that are going to be charged by the solar panel/panels.

You need a 12volt panel (actually about 18volts but designed to charge 12volt systems) and you need a controller to reduce the voltage and manage the charging of the batteries.

Solar panels are rated in watts and typical panels suitable for motorhomes would be 80 or 100watts but you can fit more than one.

Possibly you need to fit a local specialist or visit a show like Malvern where people will fit at the show.
