I would suggest trying Johns Cross as they're not far away, and you might just get a funsters discount. I suspect they may not be the cheapest though.

Get as many panels on the van as you can , we have a 150 and 100 watt solar panel plus 2 x 100 amp batteries and we have loads of power to run an 2kw inverter to power the remosker , rice cooker ,or travel kettle ,
With the amount of sun we have had lately , we have been running the fridge on 12volts as well BUT not at the same time ....

Ours came with a panel and 2 x 110amp batteries so never had the experience of running out of power, but considering fitting another panel and another 110amp battery.

Can't always rely on hook-up whilst on aires but don't usually stop anywhere for longer than 2 days.

2 x 100W panels on the roof, 2 x 110Ah batteries and an 2000W/4000W inverter means I simply do not need EHUs at all for most of the year. Cheaper than a good genny, costs nothing to run nd uses no fossil fuels. Whats not to like?

Best bit of kit available, worth every penny ::bigsmile:

Also love the fact that there is just no worry about power and one less thing to watch while on long term wild camping etc :)

Well I am not huge fan of solar energy.. Efficiency is very low and it is touch expensive too.

What guys you think about solar power?

Why are you not a fan? it's not actually that expensive any more, after the initial cost in fact the power provided is free...

That's what I think.....

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
We've got solar, Trojan batteries , inverter and NASA bm2 we very rarely ever have hook up. But we have found, when a fellow ralliers also not on hook up comment on the fact that you've got your lights and tv on . Plus you've both showered in the MH and the wife's blow dried and straightened her hair and they are sat in darkness wondering how. It doesn't matter how many times you tell /advise people . That it's is the way to go, they don't listen. Or very rarely want to know.

We've only got one panel , it's always been enough for us , but good batteries.

I assume you mean 600 amp hour of batteries.

Even a tiny battery can produce hundreds of amps for a few seconds or so.
