    Greetings,

So that's twice a time and date arranged for someone to come to the house and fit our existing solar panel and reg. to the 'van has let us down.

Why is it that people think you're on the end of a piece of string. I thought it was them that were providing the service. The pi**ock didn't even have the decency to ring up and offer what feeble excuse he could have made.:shout::shout::shout:

    Rant Over.

Does anyone have the details of a RELIABLE fitter in the Plymouth, Devon/Cornwall borders.
Please don't tell me you did it yourself and it was easy peasy. I don't want to know.
    Thanks in advance.

You could try Murvi or Marquiss, both at Lee Mill, just off the A38. They may be able to offer a suggestion even if they won't agree to do the job.

    Hi Simbadog,

Care to elaborate on your reasoning why no Tavistock.

    Hi DBK,

Marquis farm their work out to a non contactable, non phone answering, non attending person.

The problem is most (but not all) fitters rely on the profit from supply and fit. Fitting alone they cannot get away with charging £400 for an hours work or am I being cynical.

Profit on supply only covers handling/purchasing AND warranty on said so not profit at all.
Fit only is easy as you bite the bullet if it goes tits up :roflmto:
Quotes of a theoretical 2 hrs work at £250 per hour are ridiculous and any business will not waste effort justifying their price. If you can DIY then there are plenty who willingly give advice especially me and it is the best way. The only way you will get stiffed on price is going through a dealer who will just sub it out. Quality feedback recommendation should be the key words and if you have to travel to guys like Eddie then consider the other jobs to make it worth the diesel :thumb:

    Hi Beachcaster,

Thanks for that but two points,

"Your neck of the woods" is a two hundred mile return journey, and Vanbitz won't do 'fit only' service. I've rung them.

    Greetings,

Anyone reading this thread from the Plymuff area and wanting or thinking of ringing Blackwater Electronics at Torpoint.

    DON'T:Eeek::Eeek::Eeek:

The No. shown is not them (and hasn't been for about eight years). They are not in business at this No.

I've got Brian from Car-Fi coming down the week after next to Torquay to fit a solar panel and sat dish on my new Autocruise.

He's also doing a solar panel for another motorhomer in Dawlish/Teignmouth.

Might be worth getting a quote.

    Hi Simbadog,

My reply was in no way directed at you. These things happen.
Funny phone call really. I finished up talking to the daughter (aged about 2) of the subscriber of that phone. Really confused her, and me.
