I'm a newbie
Hi,

Just bought a 2007 Niesmann-Bischoff Arto which has come with a roof-mounted solar panel already fitted.

Apologies for the silly question - but do I need to do anything to be sure that this is making a contribution to the battery charging?

How much of a difference is one panel likely to make?

Many thanks,

A single panel can be anything from less than 50W to more than 120W so one panel can make a substantial difference. Wait for a sunny day then look at leisure battery voltage with the panel covered and uncovered. The effect will be very noticeable.

Congratulation on the purchase of you N+B Arto from another N+B owner, a single panel average size might give you 1 or 2 amps this time of year as the sun is low, getting up to 4 or 5 in the summer months with a higher sun.

Depending how the panel is wired it may show the amps going in on your control panel, when you press to check batteries is there an arrow with a number and A next to it.

Her the 1.6 is going out as our solar goes straight to the batteries so does not go through the CBE control system.
