SOG Filter change frequency...

Any advice on how often, if ever, do I need to change my SOG Filter...

Our van has one, it's 18 years old, do you think it's time to change the filter....we generally don't have many other motorhomers that park near to us...
Some do but move after a short period of time move.I can disconnect it...but depending on who is next to us I may not...
I don't use Elsan type fluid...just Bio- Liquid...if I disconnect then our bathroom smells a little, imagine what others have to put up with next door while having breakfast...I think I need to be more SOG Sociable...please feel free to disagree or just not park to close to me...(Famous Police Recording)..

SOG say annually but from experience at least every 3 months.
I modified ours to a roof vent so it doesn't have filters.

Fitted our Thetford version of a sog four years ago and have not changed the filter since.
No smells in our van from the loo and I don't much care if it pongs outside, so the original filter stays.

I use one from 'Family Cash' supermarket ( old eroski in centre) now @ 2,89€ for 5 litres.

SOG say annually

which means you need to change it every 3 weeks now to get it back on track.

I have changed ours once in 6 years. That was only because I was going to my first rally and had read the views of some funsters on here (no names no pack drill) who were complaining about smells. That might be the first and only time that I change it!

I will change mine in the event of someone complaining cos as a rule you can’t smell anything when I’m dropping my cargo

Just changed mine after two years of use, to be honest I dont know if it has made any difference because im never outside when its being used ;-)

We change ours every year. We don’t want to upset neighbours on some of those generously spaced French aires

I change our filter every 12 months, it's still better than using fluid and having to carry it.
