Hi, anyone fitted a SOG system to a Autotrail Delaware 2014 reg?.
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks in advance.

If you are going to fit a SOG, the roof vent ones are best and don't need a filter, next best are the floor vent ones, I've had the door vent ones I'm not very keen on them.
I've had floor vents ones in my last van and current van. At the moment I'm in the middle of converting my floor vent one to a roof vent, I will put pics and info up on my modding thread (link in my signature) in the next few days.

I have fitted one to a coachbuilt and one to a panel van, and had experts fit 2 others. The instructions were simple to follow. Real stress is drilling hole for vent, measure lots of times. Consoled myself of coachbuilt that at worst only would mess up toilet cassette door. Drilling through van side is worryingly easy. Not applicable to you but if van was in warranty you would certainly lose toilet warranty.

SOG is a trade name. If you have a Thetford toilet they can supply their own version which is easy enough to fit yourself.

Problem with the Thetford one is it can only be vented directly under the toilet under the van, the fan is very noisy and filters need changing every 4 weeks. Yes I know you don't change yours Peter.
The SOG is a far better product.

Thanks to every who replied to me, but I was really looking to see how to fit SOG in my Autotrail Delaware as the cassette body is very close to access door on outside. Thanks once again for your help and replies.

It was very tight on our Benimar Mileo. System was fitted by Outdoor Bits, who import the kits. From memory, no longer have van, as there wasn’t room between cassette and door for fan gubbins they fitted it just above door, still in toilet compartment. Could try calling them to discuss dimensions etc.

Are you sure you don't have it already as it came as standard on my 2013 Autotrail Mohawk. When you flush the loo does a fan symbol light on the panel?

Mines not noisy, it's only a 40mm fan that runs for a couple of minutes or so.

Not quite, Thetford say it is +/- 4 weeks continuous use, which on average is a season's use. On the other hand I have no idea how you tell if you've reached the season, unless you are brave enough to venture out and stick your nose in the way of the vent.
But that small fan does seem quite noisy. I haven't ventured outside of the van to know how much you are advertising to your neighbour's that you are occupied :tmi:

But the SOG makes it more difficult to get your cassette out and back in. The Thetford one utilises the vent tube already fitted to cassette so no additional holes needed. And you just take out and put back the cassette as normal. I never need to change my charcoal filter because my poo smells of roses.

Last van the SOG vented via the Thetford vent, current van doesn't I'm in the middle of modding it at the moment and changing it to a roof vent.

I fitted a SOG to our Burstner 690G. I looked at the Thetford version but the cut out in the floor of the van didn’t work for me as there was chassis members etc in the way. I also looked at a roof vent SOG but weighing up the options I decided the easiest to fit, and one that offered less chance of a major catastrophe (drilling a hole in the wrong place on the van), was a standard SOG with the vent in the Thetford door in the side of the van. The only real issue was making sure that there was enough room to fit the SOG fan between the cassette and the cassette door.

the problem with this is that my toilet cassette door is to the right of the hab door and therefore under the awning, just where the dining table goes..... ummm no thanks

A few previous motorhomes ago we swapped the roof light vent with one with the fan built in. This could be set to extract so worked well to remove anything hanging around in the bathroom! Great for using when showering too. Just needed to get a 12v feed into the ceiling which can be tricky depending on the mh.

Must have sh..t roses.

For those with a SOG where the extractor hose comes out of the usual removable cap on a Theford do you carry a spare cap to put on to take with you for emptying to avoid any unpleasant spillage ?

No smells inside MH, they are extracted at source. No chemicals required, so you can dump in any toilet if necessary and it won't kill the working bacteria in the sewage treatment. You can dump as and when the opportunity arises, without bothering that it's only half full and you're low on chemicals.
