I seem to put thousands of miles on the clock each year going North or West .. in fact I can go to France and see a fair bit with say the combined mileage in September that I did to Shepton show and the Lincoln show.
We have a very big county show ground just off the M2 at Detling, the Ardingly showground just over the border surry/sussex of the M23. Plus we have the hop farm at beltring that hosts the war and peace show with thousands of military vehicles each summer. So we have the space.. just wish someone was willing or able to organise a decent size meet. How I would love just to drive a handful of miles rather than usual 300 to 500 miles round trip.Bob

not a problem Buttons

Buttons, I do not get up set if a post goes off subject, unlike some do.

I have always enjoyed our banter on mpg, your VW and the yanks..

but I suspect he may be saying somehting we have often wondered in the past.

If I can get a meet up and running, I for once will not have to fill the RV tank right up.. now that would make a nice change.

But we have a lot going on in Kent and it is a gret a place if you ignore the M25... I hope we will be able to sort a meet out and lots of MHF members and RVOC members in 2012.

Yes it could well be. I did think of that, but what I was trying to do was get some of those North of the Thames to come in to the county.... no I am not the tourist board rep for Kent:Blush:

The Hop Farm is only 15 miles down from the M25.. where the Isle of Sheppy is a reasonable bit further down.. but I will give you it is in line with Detling if you were to put a line on a map.

Perhaps we could explore the venue and see if he can take the numbers and at what price.

I was mindful of the costs as well as access etc., Driving a rig 45' including the trailer I like all need a good access to a site and good firm ground on the level. If the new member wnats to drop me a p.m. I would be happy to hear from him.

Keep the suggestions coming please.

Re meet in Kent

As many of you know, we own a campsite in Kent, www.leobay.co.uk all be it a small one, just 5 pitches, it has some of the best views of the Swale, Medway & Thames Estuary. We would welcome Funsteres no problem, maybe crack a can or two, while we stick a few ribs on the Barbee, we could even organise some fun and games too!

How about an exclusive Funster Weekend? You set the dates, just give us enough notice. As for pitch size, last weekend we had two Autotrail 28ft units no problem, please give it some thought and let us know!

The meet I was trying to get up for late March is not going very far as there seems to be zero real interest at this time. Plus the Hop Farm have not come back to me yet.

Just looked at your website. Very impressed I have now book marked it and will follow on facebook. It looks a lovely place for a meet. Im not sure if you can only fit 5 on the CL but I did interestingly notice that you have a workshop there as well.

Good luck in your venture and hopefully we will be seeing you sometime in the near future.

Thanks everyone for commenting on our little pitch at Queenbrough Kent, I need some input from Bob before we can accept the good ol RV's. A Tag axle is about the bigest we can fit at the moment, however if we plan a few small alterations, then I guess we can lay it out to suite the larger outfits.

With all that said we have travelled all over the place in our vans over the years, without boasting, I think LeoBay offers just about everything one would need, with amazing views too! But most important of all is the peace and quite... We Love It.
