After the problems we had with the heater and then the leak in the roof and me feeling like MoHo-ing wasn't for us, we're giving him another go tomorrow. We're off to a friends carp fishery for a couple of nights and hoping to find somewhere on the way back to stop for one night. I'm really nervous about it, worried about breaking down and praying it doesn't rain!! We've got him hooked up right now and the fridge is on. Most things are loaded up and ready to go. I tried the water heater to check it works 😨 I put it on summer setting, it whirred away for a while but no hot water. So, I turned it up to winter setting, it whirred again.....and the water was boiling!!! I turned it off, the cooling fan kicked in for a few minutes and now all is quiet. I'm happy to go tomorrow, as we have warm weather forecast and, if I need hot water, I can always boil the kettle  I'm trying to focus on the positive stuff!!

So, fingers crossed for me, please!! :)

Good luck, but please post your problems so we can help you overcome them. Where are you off to?

Based on my own and friends experience I’d say what you’ve experienced is fairly typical. Every motorhome has its peculiarities and it’s rare not to have teething issues. They don’t like not being used so problems often occur when it’s been stood for a while. Fingers crossed you’re up and running now, though odds on you’ll find a few more quirks as you use it, we all do! Good luck…

Hi.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Just think how brave you can be,you and yours against ALL the elements. BRING IT ON. Everything crossed for you and your journey into the unknown......

Oh........ I forgot to mention,a mate of mine overnighted at a Carp fishery............. IT WAS HAUNTED !!! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: .

I have been in a similar situation. Our motorhome had a few teething problems and teemed up with a reluctant 11 year old, I didn't think that we would carry on. The Funsters came to our aid and slowly we are learning about our motorhome and finding out how to engage our 11 year old. This weekend we did 1 night at Ashbourne Heights which was only an hour from home and we even took our two dogs! It was lovely.
Don't give up...you have Motorhome Fun on your team!!💖

Thank you so much. However, one of my fears has just been realised.....it's raining!! Still, we won't let that put us off. I just hope the roof doesn't leak, as we're off the ramps now. We had the front end raised while we've been to Germany, so we didn't get any more damage. Just as well with the horrendous downpours that happened!!

We're going just north of Angers, so should be about 4 1/2 hours with a couple of stops :)

Fortunately, I've been to this carp fishery before and it's fine (y)

Its raining is a good thing, for me not only is it soothing to go to sleep in , it will help you in looking for damp spots. (y)

Yes, the sound of it on the roof is lovely but we've just dropped the MoHo off the ramps. He's had his nose in the air to help with run-off while we've been to Germany I know where the leak is but we haven't had it fixed yet!

In fairness, I think the whole roof needs doing but it's finding the time. Both previous owners kept it under cover but we don't have that luxury :(
