It does look like a speed issue doesn't it. It looks like the lorry was probably doing 50 or so.. he has overtaken the lorry (speed here) and lost control either from the buffeting or misjudging length. Speed limit was 60mph and he must have been close to that . Innapropriate speed for the road or traffic conditions is a recipe for disaster
Hardly a reason to call comentators 'speed stasi'.
Speeding poorly towed caravan stasi would probably be more accurate.

Ahh here's another one ..

It does if the lorry was doing 50mph as on a single carriageway , when towing ,you are restricted to 50 mph. Only 60 on a dual .

Speed limit,by law ,I believe is 60 mph in the UK for towing a trailer inc.a caravan no excuse to breaking the law so should be booked ...
Only 50 on a single carriageway & that is only when allowed

Shows it was yesterday I watched it . forgot he was on a dual.:p

Hi.
IF... someone is going faster than me,i try to let them by,they have proved they are quicker by catching me up. Frustration, caused two girls to be crippled for life,by a person with a driving licence, the other factor being........
"Number two,starts the queue"
So in no time at all to quote a line from a song.."Mercies sakes alive, looks like we've got us a Convoy!"

Bet if you were to read posts on a caravan forum, there will be a post about being held up by a Motor Home...LOL
Lifes to short to be playing games out on the Frog an Toad, chill out, don't be a statistic, sermon over for this Sunday
Tea Bag
PS. Or,buy shares in Speed Cameras...LOL

Same as white van man on a dual carriageway but we see enough of them doing well over 60 to indicate that enforcement is the exception rather than the rule.

We do also get overtaken by both caravans and motorhomes. I always think what a shame they probably have only got two weeks holiday and are trying to get several hundred miles a day to enjoy a holiday.
So you're the one ....

I towed caravans for some years all over Europe. If you have a good set up then speed should not be a problem. It used to frighten the life out of me when my brake lights came on and illuminated this thing so close behind me that I had totally forgotten about.;)

Not sure how you come to that conclusion, we have more enforcement than anywhere else in the world that I have driven You can't drive a mile without being snapped by one camera or another.

We live half a mile from the A19 dual carriageway. Whichever way we go, whether south to the A1 at Dishforth or north to Wearside/Tyneside we are invariably passed by several vans doing more than 60 mph, often enough passing us when we are doing 70 mph. If there were so many speed cameras then the government would be raking in a fortune and several drivers would be losing their licences.
There again, it could be that there is so much more crime in some areas that the former need more extensive camera coverage :)

I have just driven 800 glorious miles around Cyprus, I haven't enjoyed driving so much for some time. Cyprus is totally free of fixed speed cameras. You drive without a single thought of being trampled by a cash cow.
I arrived back to Luton, picked my car then run the gauntlet of cash cows between the car park exit to junction 5 of the M1 I must have passed 50 of them.:(

Its all about the tow car... i am constantly amazed by what people consider a suitable towing vehicle, having seen cars on the bumpstops with vans on the back , trying to drive like they have nothing on.

We towed for a few years , with an XLWB Iveco van , and you it would do the same speed with or without the van on , which was just over an indicated 70, but nothing ever made it twitch, i did contemplate another caravan and decent power LWB Vivaro, but my friend who has the same set up advised against it as he doesnt have enough people carrying capacity , so we went with another MH instead, which has turned out to be a good call, as it flies and is the right side of 20mpg , which ticks all of my boxes
