Relative newbie
We are a fairly big outfit being 8m long, 2.7m wide and 2.9m tall so having done the Snake Pass beofre (in a little sports car) I'm now wondering how suitable it will be for us. We are considering leaving Holmfirth and heading to Glossop and then back via Snake Pass to Catsleton.

If it'll fit, I can do it but my questiin is, should I?

We are leaving in 30mins so yes, can't get much more 11th hour.

Thanks...

Used to regularly take a 38 ton HGV over. The only problem ever encountered was snow or ice in the winter months. 👍

No problems at all, done it several times in 8.3 metre rig.

Watch out for the bikers overtaking on blind bends ....... oh, sorry bit late for you now, you've already driven it.
Lovely route on a fine day 👍🏻

From my experience it wasn’t the going up that caused me problems one winters day in the dark on Snake Pass. I was coming back to Manchester in my dads firms van. A sheep was standing in the middle of the road on one of the bends. Trying to avoid it I put a wheel into the snow at the side and slid along the armco. I though I was doing really well having made it over the top.
