My mouth is salivating at these pictures and descriptions ... I was excited about trying pulled pork, having seen it done on TV this morning and was tempted to try smoked chicken but .... oh, so many choices and not enough time ....

I made a BBQ out of a 44 gallon drum - it works really well as a BBQ - just need to make it work well as a smoker as well.

Hi Jim,

I only 'pop in' on here now and then since selling the van...... this thread caught my eye...

If you are still looking for an internal thermometer how about this one ?

http://thermometer.co.uk/catering-thermometers/1157-dot-digital-oven-thermometer.html

I use the ETI Thermapen and I can certainly vouch for its quality and accuracy (funnily enough it was my 'son-in-law' who suggested it, he uses one on his BBQ smoker all the time)

Nice looking meat by the way (y)

I've had enough of this food photo porn; I want to smell it, taste it, feel the juices drip down my fingers .... Fess up, where are you in Suffolk @scotjimland and what time is it served?

Looks great. What time is Dinner ?
In about two hours..

just removed from the final 2hr cooking wrapped in foil .. temperature 92c

.. another two hours relaxing wrapped in foil .. .. then dinner... 'bout 4.30

roast veggies and potatoes done on the gas barbie ... with a home made sweet chilly tomato sauce..

Couldn't resist a peak and a taste .. can't describe it.. beyond words..

That looks like it was great Jim...I've used a few similar recipes found on Utube.

Just at the weekend I gave my beloved Weber to my son...he had just moved into his new house, no money...so felt sorry for him as he couldn't afford anything for the garden!

Now all I need is a van , hopefully this year..

Am I reading this wrong or have you parted with your Hymer?
