Can anyone tell me how to post smilies into a post using an android phone.

Sony Xperia E1 running 4.4.2

Not sure all phones do - was it Yorick's that wouldn't do it, mine's an android and in the post reply box I just see the same options as the laptop/ipad i. e. the little face in the reply toolbar.

The smiley in my post above was posted from my Asus 'phablet'................. they seem to work as normal (this reply posted from my Apple laptop)

Perhaps you have a setting of some sort turned off on your phone? sorry I can't help you any more

Yes i have the smilies button and when pressed i get the selection of smilies.
i click on chosen smilie and a purple box containing a smaller white outlined box appears at the bottom of the text box with the letters OBJ.
whether i click the box or not it doesnt display the smilie.

Checked the forum settings and all are correct...nothing in phone settings to adjust that i can see.

Just testing , works exactly the same. Just click the smiley & it inserts it.

If this works it's a pic of my phone.

Tablet too close to focus but you can see the purple box with the letters OBJ.....and lack of smilie.
