Smart BMS App for Daly BMS

My app updated automatically to v2.4.0 on 23 Dec. I now can't connect to my batteries! Version includes an update to BMS firmware which fortunately I did not attempt as reading reviews it basically appears to disable the BMS!

So if you have Smart BMS app suggest you don't update and certainly don't attempt firmware update until fix has been applied. Check reviews on PlayStore

Not had any major problems with the app on an iPhone. However, it doesn’t show the in/out current until a few amps is being used/charged. Anyone know of a fix for this?

Bart did the download work okay for you or have you reverted back to the old version?
Sorry, no, it didn't work!

On 29/12/22 another update was released v2.4.3 so I installed it but makes no difference. I suspect the issue I have is the firmware update stalled and BMS is locked up.

I am far from alone...........

Terrible that it wouldn't let me install anything it kept asking fore a code in order to do so.
Is the BMS still functional or bricked?

Not sure. I can't tell the state of charge from BMS, no idea if low temp cut off has stopped charging - I had it set at +3 degrees. 40A B2B is showing a charge of 5A - is that because of low temp or BMS problem? No idea ...

For anyone else who suffers from this Daly shambles this is what the app interface looks like. The battery is on the kitchen table connected to nothing but there is a 15A load? And its one nominal 12.8v battery in unknown state of charge yet its 60% SOC with dial showing zero .... and 26.4v?

I checked my batteries yesterday,2x 100ah lithium. On the Victron app it says they were on 86% soc,but on the BMS app it said each battery was on 100% soc.
Which one is correct I wonder.

I note you have BMS software upgrade (firmware?). I wouldn't touch that until some others have tested it? Does the previous code 123456 still work if you want to adjust parameters? It would be great to set your own code though

Just an update on this. I'll not name the reputable UK dealer from whom I bought 2 lithiums over a year ago ...... at the moment!
But latest I hear is they are in discussion with Daly. Appears the bluetooth capability has been frozen and since batteries are in a sealed plastic box fixing is not going to be easy.
The batteries charge and discharge OK but how do I know the safety parameters, balancing of cells etc is OK?
Battery supplier is looking to an external shunt solution - that may be more accurate with total battery voltage, current etc, but useless as far as managing the batteries.
