Bought one of these recently for our van. Tested it overnight at home and then used it last weekend as a background heating in the night. Works well. Very small. <Broken link removed>

I think I would have bought the bigger one (1500W) and turned it down. You can't turn this one up (500W)

1500W could be perfect for your van. For mine I calculated the heatable volume and made some rather rough thermal loss assumptions. Then I decided on an acceptable internal temperature (at a likely external temp) and the calculated the required BTUs. I transformed that into the power required. Knowing how noisy the blown air heating is at different power levels I worked out the excess power requirements and 500 Watts fits the bill. YMMV.
