Heading through Austria and Slovenia to Croatia in May. I know we need a go box in Austria, but what do we do in Slovenia and Croatia for toll roads in a twin axle 8.7 metre motorhome ?
Thanks

We're not quite your size but over 3500kgs, when we went last autumn we didn't need to do anything, though we didn't find the need to travel on any motorways in either country. We crossed over from Austria via the Wurzen pass not via the A11.

The wurzenpass looks a bit steep for us. We caught the back end on a steep downhill bend on the way to Montpellier last year. Like to stick to the good roads.

We went in 2015 and if I remember correctly you buy a Vignette at the border. Google it and you will find the current price. It was very easy, just place it on your windscreen.
Enjoy your travels

Wehave similar concerns with rear overhang but the Wurzenpass though steep in places is OK for that...

In Slovenia over 3500kg you pay at the toll booths, same in Croatia

You can see the black surface on the bottom right of the D362. It had just been resurfaced. Looks like it's been hit a few times.

For Slovenia you can buy them from most shops and nearly all petrol stations, back in 2015 we was not aware we needed one until a guy told us its a hefty fine if caught, he pointed down the road at a petrol station and said they are readily available, we paid 15e but cant remember how long that lasted for - maybe a week or two i think.
Heading back there ourselves this year adding Austria and Croatia so will be watching your outcome for information ;)

As has been said above you can purchase at most petrol stations before reaching the border, we actually got stopped at the border and checked. I would recommend Lake Bled for a couple of days really stunning place, also Izola (spelling might be wrong) few places here to stay, we stay next to the beach in a car park that allows overnights for motorhomes they also have hook up for motorhomes next to the harbour.

for Slovenia you need to pay at the toll booths, go in to the truck lane on the far right. very easy..... vignette is for 3.5t and below. we did get some strange looks when the attendant finally came to the booth. and its cash only.
ps ..very good motorways.

I can highly recommende this site, its not too far from Bled but much more peaceful, we found camping Bled to be very busy and to be honest glad we never went on there an opted to go to this place, cycle routes going off in all directions, bike hire, canoe hire and even private excurtions doing dangerous stuff down waterfalls and stuff :LOL:.. Speak very good english and the guy at the bike hire place was really good and helpful... Site was very clean and toilet/showers very good and clean... I think it also has a indoor pool but we never explored it, was off cycling nearly every day discovering the area..

Yes Lake Bohinj is far less commercial than Bled & , for me, far prettier.I'd like to return one day but can't see it happening.

Agree with the posts above... Bled, 30 years ago when we went was very good, now it is too commercial though it is easy to walk around in an hour or so... Lake Bohinj is a class or two above..

I agree with comments about Lake Bled being busy, in my opinion it's still worth a visit. We stayed at the campsite for 3 nights and no issues even though it was busy it was also peaceful.

I would also recommend Bovec, lovely little village with campsite and Aire. They have loads of things on offer from Rafting to gliding.

This might help with the tolls
