The power closing aid on the sliding door of our Globecar Summit Prime is faulty, making it impossible to secure the door. On googling for advice on how to fix it many people it would seem have had problems with this device after about three years - ours is three years old.

Has anyone got one of these closing aids that's lasted more than three years? I'm seriously considering replacing the special latch with the original. I don't want to be stuck with the problem whilst away.

John 🙂

Hi John,
We have a Globecar Campscout with one and have had no problems, other than a little reluctance from it occasionally. Our van is 2018 and well used. It is important to keep up maintenance on all the sliding door moving parts with frequent application of silicone spray.
I know many others have had issues but we haven’t in 40,000 miles.
If you haven’t already, I’d recommend joining the Globecar & Pössl Facebook group. It’s full of good advice.
