The winder on my roof skylight is not doing its job properly,i have to push the window whilst winding it up as won't do it on its own.
Is it repairable ?
Or do i need to buy a new skylight.

Hi Rich,
I had the same problem this week & fixed it myself quite easily.

This is not a difficult fix by any means, requires a screwdriver and a bit of patience! Go to YouTube and punch in caravan skylight repair and presto!

Several videos to choose from but the one I looked at was a guy in blue paint splattered overalls & I think it was called "motorhome caravan RV rooflight skylight removal and cleaning" I hope this helps and you manage to repair/fix it.

If you do a google search on the "maker" of the window spare parts may be available. A lot of motorhome manufacturers use independent parts makers like Heki etc.

Hi Rich, have you got any pictures of the window and problem?

I removed the unit from the main plastic frame in the roof - 9 screws, dismantled it, unwound it by hand, removed the winder mechanism, sprayed WD40 on the internal spring winder, rewound it gently by hand, replaced it back in the frame and put it back together again.

I hope this helps.
