Good evening funsters
I am going to Yorkshire in mid August and would like to stay around Whitby and Thirsk area and maybe little more west(ish).
Will be 1st longer break in the MH rather than the 2 weekenders we have done down the new forest.
1) can any funsters recommend any sites i can stay at... i have solar (also should have inverter fitted by then for my wife's hairdryer😂) so EHU not essential but don't mind either way.
2) don't want to make her dig hole in the woods to empty cassette so fresh and waste points essential.😂😂😇

Any suggestions would be much appreciated
Regards
Sheld

There is a site on the cliff top at whitby near the abbey,im afraid i cant remember its name, but you can walk to whitby from it,its on the coastal walk, ive stayed a few times , cheers pampam

Do I ring to book or go on pitch up or likewise to book (or at least try 🤔)

Yes I am a member of CAMC
Have a look at the THS calendar. I am at the Monks farm one 2nd to 7th. Organised by Leeds DA, who appear to be very very active and very friendly. My first THS so we shall see what it is like

THS a is a Temporary Holiday site. Pop up campsite and a very economical way of camping

Have a look round the area with Searchforsites app or website.

Here is a screenshot of the Whitby and Thirsk area.

Haha I just downloaded that app, thanks I will look now.
Thanks

If your going further west(ish)……Try Hawes or Barnard Castle (eye test optional)😉

Both have CAMC sites too.
Hmm Barnard Castle......is that where there're a lot of "Cummings" and goings🤣🤣🙈

I will be going on 14th Aug onwards sorrow I may have some issues booking.

May have to find a quiet spot if I can't get anywhere 😙😉

I particularly like the Sandfield House Farm campsite HERE at Whitby and the CAMC Lower Wensleydale campsite just outside Layburn. Thirsk racecourse CAMC site is great for the town nice pitches just very old facilities last time I stayed that really needed refurbishment

It's a managed site so facilities / groundwork / cleaning is down to the owners (the Racecourse). A nice relaxed site though & minutes from the town. Two supermarkets just outside the gates.

Bedale Camping and Caravan CS.
This site won Best New CS of the year in 2017 AND Best CS Site, THE SAME YEAR???
It is also the venue for a Fun Rally, the first week of July 2022.

Try the MCC cl in Sleights where we live its 3 miles from Whitby with a bus and train (about 4 a day!) service. There also a new cl.
Wherever you go I would definitely book

We have been to a couple of THSs run by Leeds DA in the past. Very well organised.
